Want to know a little more about the series?

The flower fairies are a set of seasonally inspired, whimsical and delicate sprites in their garden habitats, captured amongst the flower that inspires their creation. Each design in this series is a substantial A5 embroidery, printed on to generously sized antique french linen and will be worked in a complementary palette, so a group of flower fairies will work as beautifully together as each does on their own. At the end of the year, I will be finishing my twelve embroideries as feature panels in a pretty lap quilt.

What's included?

  • Comprehensive stitching guide with a step by step instructions, lots of photos and a copy of the original drawing for reference.

  • A piece of antique hand dyed tulle for the your fairy’s wings

  • A generous piece of antique French linen with the embroidery design already hand printed ready for you to start stitching

  • Card with all of the threads you will need to complete this project, including speciality threads

  • Open access to contact me with questions about your stitching while you are working on the project - I am always very happy to help or provide a bit of guidance (or just to update you on what Florence has been up to)

Can I stitch this?

There are a number of different embroidery stitches and techniques used in this kit that a more competent stitcher will be comfortable with, but the instruction include very detailed photos and provide a good basis to guide less experienced stitchers, in the hope that everyone can enjoy working on this. YouTube is also a great resource for demonstrations if you are unsure how to complete a certain stitch.

I would say that all of the Flower Fairy series will benefit from a slower approach, where the stitcher reduces their stitch size down dramatically, allowing the markings to be more precise and the resulting effect more beautiful.

Is this sized to fit the heirloom bunting?

This is part of the wider Flower Fairy collection and is too large to be accommodated on a bunting flag. Should you chose to stitch the full series, you may wish to set the twelve embroideries as the central panels in a lap quilt as I will be doing with the originals, and I will share a lot more information and photos for this later in the year.
