Terms of Service
Shipping
We’re as excited for you to receive a parcel from Florence as we are to send it to you, so we always endeavour to post your orders as soon as we possibly can. We would love to get each one out on the same day it is received and whilst this is our aim, we are a tiny team (and Florence is ornamental rather than functional), so alongside preparing and posting your order, we will also be very busy hand-printing antique linen, loading thread cards, assembling kits, writing instructions, designing and stitching future kits, answering queries and keeping accounts.
If you need the order for a certain date, e.g. for a special occasion, please just drop us a line and we will do our best to help you achieve that request.
We are presently offering delivery to the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Regrettably, we are at this time unable to offer our products to the EU (and very sadly also to our dear friends in Northern Ireland) due to the GPSR regulations that became statutory in December 2024, although we hope in the near future that this might change. If you are in a country not currently covered within our shipping policy, please do contact us - we will need to research shipping costs and methods, but if we can facilitate your orders, we’d love to try.
Once we have packed and sent your order, you will receive an email notification to say that ‘We have finished processing your order’
You must inform us that an order has not been received within 28 days from the day the order was shipped. Beyond 28 days after shipping, we no longer held responsible for tracing or replacing missing parcels/orders and you will need to place a new order for replacement goods.
UK Shipping
We use Royal Mail’s Tracked 24 or Tracked 48 services for swift, efficient and secure deliveries, reaching you within 24/48 hours respectively from the day we send, with tracking notifications by text message and email. Compensation for loss/damage up to £100.
The cost for posting your order will vary, dependent on weight and parcel dimensions, as well as the service you select. Please refer to your basket for further clarity.
Worldwide Shipping
We use Royal Mail’s Tracked International post service, linking to your country’s postal service on arrival.
The cost for posting your order will vary, dependent on weight and parcel dimensions, as well as the service you select. Please refer to your basket for further clarity.
You may have to pay fees/duty/tax on your goods at your country's rate as they enter your country. You will need to pay any fees and taxes before your parcel is released for delivery. It is not possible for What Florence Did Next to determine and advise on the cost of the fees/duty/tax that is due as each country will have different rules and allowances on imports. By agreeing to our terms and conditions at checkout, then you agree to be responsible for payment of any fees/duty/tax incurred by your order and accept that goods cannot be returned as a result of duty charges.
We must quote the full value of your goods on the customs declaration when sending parcels outside the UK.
Contract Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
What Florence Did Next was founded on a love of the embroidered art and we only create (and release) kits of designs that we love. We want you to love your purchase just as much so please do contact us if you have an issue with your order and we will do all we can to help you.
If you wish to cancel your order prior to dispatch, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and we will arrange a refund.
Due to the nature of our designs and instructions being open to duplication, once your order has been despatched we can only accept returns due to an item supplied being faulty, damaged or not as described. We do not accept returns due to cancellation or change of heart.
Please always get in touch with us first before returning an item so that we have agreed to its return and can expect the delivery.
Items may only be returned within 14 days of receipt.
Items must be returned in original condition and original packaging and must be packaged securely to avoid damage during return.
Items must be returned using the same method of postage used to dispatch eg. items sent by tracked post must be returned using the same levels of insurance and tracking. Please always obtain a proof of posting.
A refund will be issued only on safe receipt of the returned item in its original saleable condition.
Postage will be refunded only where the item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Availability
All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. If the products you have ordered are not available from stock, we will contact you by e-mail or phone. You will have the option either to wait until the item is available from stock or to cancel your order and receive a refund.
Variation of Kit Materials
At What Florence Did Next we love to use vintage and antique items as part of our designs and kits. This includes (but is not limited to) fabric, threads, trims, decorative objects and haberdashery items such as ribbons, lace and buttons. The nature of these preloved items means that there are natural variations in colour, finish, texture, weight and surface, and also in some instances, areas of light wear or markings indicative of their previous use. We believe these qualities only add to their beauty but if your preference is toward new items and perfection, our kits may not be suitable for you.
We reserve the right to substitute materials/colours of materials in kits for an alternative of equivalent quality if required, due to issues with supply from manufacturers.
We aim to depict colours and textures as accurately as possible on our website, but please remember that colours naturally vary between different computer screens and between web images and reality.
