Time To Celebrate

£30.00

At What Florence Did Next we are big fans of cake. I class it in its own food group (along with sandwiches, coincidentally, which I adore equally).

I really love cake, but that’s nothing when compared with how much Florence and Dilys adore it, so when it came to marking the first anniversary of the store’s launch, I knew for certain that a very special occasion cake needed to be added to the offering.

I really love cake, but that’s nothing when compared with how much Florence and Dilys adore it, so when it came to marking the first anniversary of the store’s launch, I knew for certain that a very special occasion cake needed to be added to the offering.

This ‘naked’ cake looks dreamy with a selection of ‘peaches and cream’ blooms but could easily be adapted to fit special occasions in your own life.

How gorgeous would it look with the threads switched out to yellows to mark a golden wedding anniversary, embroidered in someone’s favourite colour to mark their special birthday or stitched to mimic the bride’s bouquet at their wedding (with or without the ‘naked’ icing). You could even embroidery names or dates on to the linen to further personalise the embroidery to your special occasion.

If you would like to stitch it for a particular occasion and have a colour preference, drop me a message via the contact form and I will happily help you re-colour the design (I’ll even swap out the colours on a threadcard to your occasion’s palette if I can).

Time To Celebrate is the newest member of my Summer Party Bunting series, so if you aren’t stitching it to gift to someone for their special occasion, it looks equally glorious as a new flag on a stand of your own heirloom bunting.

What's included?

  • Comprehensive stitching guide with a step by step instructions, clear photos for reference and an annotated plan for the project

  • Antique French linen with the embroidery design already hand printed ready for you to start stitching

  • Card with all of the threads you will need to complete this project

  • Open access to contact me with questions about your stitching while you are working on the project - I am always very happy to help or provide a bit of guidance (or just to update you on what Florence has been up to)

Can I stitch this?

Whilst not particularly difficult, there are a number of different embroidery stitches used in this kit.  YouTube is always a great resource for demonstrations if you are unsure how to complete a certain stitch.

Is this sized to fit the heirloom bunting?

Absolutely!  This has been sized to fit a bunting flag (and looks gorgeous strung as part of my Summer Party strand), but the design comes on a good sized piece of antique linen so, if bunting isn't your thing, it would look equally lovely mounted in a little frame to gift to the recipient, made up as a bowl filler, or as a patch on a bag.

The instructions for making your own strand of heirloom bunting can be found here.
